In the autumn of 2011 AYY provides short-term emergency accommodation for its members, who have been unable to obtain housing by the beginning of the study.

Emergency accommodation is arranged in Otaniemi, Espoo, in basic dorm rooms which fit 6-20 person each. There is also a shared toilet and shower and a small kitchen. Personal lockable storage facilities are not available. One should rely on emergency accommodation only if all other options have failed to obtain housing.

Emergency accommodation costs 2.00 euros / night. In addition, a deposit fee of EUR 60 is charged for the key. Deposit is returned in the end of accommodation.

Applying to emergency accommodation is done by sending an e-mail titled “Emergency housing” to asuntotoimisto@ayy.fi.

The housing section of the AYY website has been improved. New pages have been made for housing offices, tenant councils and castle wardens to make it easier to find information. New information  and instruction has been added about tenant services..

The applications for housing in Otaniemi must be updated at campus.ayy.fi by 15 Dec. Due to the problems that occurred during the data transfer to a new campus system, data was lost from the applications made for housing in Otaniemi.
