The summer opening hours 2016 of AYY’s service points

AYY’s service points will partially be closed during the summer months of June – August. The service points in Arabia, Töölö and Otaniemi as well as the housing office of Otaniemi will be serving students as follows:

Arabia Service Point
Open June 1.-22. 2016 Tue-Wed at 12 noon – 3 pm
Closed June 23. – July 31. 2016
Open normally from Mon Aug 1. on

Opening times:

Tue-Thu 12 noon – 3 pm

Otaniemi Service Point & Housing Office
Closed Mon – Sun July 4.-24. 2016
Open normally until July 1. and from 25. 2016 on

NB! When the office is closed, emergency services are organised at Otaniemi Service Point every Monday between 2pm–5pm. The Housing Office responds to emails when possible (address asuntotoimisto@ayy.fi).

AYY Housing for Exchange Students – instructions

If you are a new exchange student, you can apply for AYY housing by making an application through the Domo system.

When creating your account, please choose EXCHANGE STUDENT as your student type. Otherwise your application can’t be processed and your chance of getting an apartment in time will be worse!

When creating your account, please add in some attachment about applying or being accepted into the Aalto University as exchange student. AYY will receive a list of all exchange students who have been accepted by Aalto and we’ll actually use that list to determine who has final right to apply for AYY apartments. The attachment is basically to just let you finish your registration to Domo, so the contents of the attachment are not that important.

Please include as many apartments in your application as possible! This will GREATLY increase your chances of receiving an apartment from AYY in time for your studies. Exchange students have priority for furnished single room apartments, so please at least include those in your application. Please note that most AYY studio apartments have a queue of nearly 1-2 years, so if you only apply to studio apartments, we can unfortunately practically guarantee you won’t be receiving an apartment from AYY in time for your exchange.

To maximize your chances of receiving an apartment, please apply before 15.7.! We will start to offer apartments to exchange students around this time and if you are not in the queue before that, you might miss your chance of receiving an apartment from AYY!

AYY apartment keys during July

AYY Housing Office is mainly closed during July.

If you are returning the keys of your old apartment: drop the keys into a envelope, write your name and the exact address of the apartment on the envelope and drop it on the mailing slit on the white door of the upper stair of the AYY office (Otakaari 11).

If you need the keys of your new apartment: contact the Housing Office (asuntotoimisto@ayy.fi) separately and agree on a time when you can come and pick up your keys.

AYY moves over to a new housing system on 19.5.2015

On 19.5. AYY will move over to a new Domo housing system. The previous Campus system will be taken down on 15.5. on Thursday night. The last status of the database including all applicants, applications, lease contracts etc. will be transferred during the weekend to the Domo system.

After this, AYY housing services will be handled through Domo. This includes for example applying for AYY apartments, sending out apartment offers and terminating lease contracts. Compared to Campus system, Domo will be a more transparent and usable system that should help the applicants to make more accurate applications and know their situation in the queues in more detail.

The old users of Campus don’t really need to do anything except order a new password for Domo. The previous accounts will work. Please note that Domo will user the email address of the applicant as username, where Campus system used social security number or birthdate.

Please note! The applications of beginning degree or exchange students for the Fall 2015 to some queues will only be accepted into the Domo system. If a new student applies to single room apartments or furnished single room apartments through the Campus system, these applications will have to be rejected. This is because irreconcivable way Campus and Domo handle this kind of applications. As the order of applications for these queues is randomized, this won’t affect the chances of any new students receiving an apartment from AYY.
