1. AYY’S OPERATING GRANTS 2012

The application period for AYY’s operating grants and the making of association notice is ongoing. The application period is 1 March-1 April, so you can still apply for the grants during the next week. All AYY’s associations accepted in the first register may apply for the operating grant. Associations in the second register only fill out the association notice, which is the same form with the exception of the application for the operating grant.

The application form is available at https://lomake.ayy.fi/yhdistykset/ayyn-toiminta-avustushakemus/. Further information on the application is available by the Student Union’s organisational sector by email at jarjestoasiat@ayy.fi. You can also find answers at /yhdistyksille/apurahat-yhdistyksille/, which has concise information on the operating grant and the scoring model used for the allocation of the grants.

2. IS YOUR ASSOCIATION’S AYY.FI PROFILE UP TO DATE?

One of the conditions for receiving the operating grant in 2012 is to have an updated association profile at ayy.fi. It is advisable to check the situation of your profile immediately. If the profile does not exist, you should order it before the end of the application period of the operating grant on 1 April 2012. You can order the profile information from Joonas JylhÀ (joonas.jylha@ayy.fi). Please include your contact information and the association name with the order. Since the association members often change annually, it is recommended that the ordered usernames are sent directly to the general e-mail address of the association (such as info@yhdistys.fi), so that they remain for new members.

3. HULLU JUSSI IS APPROACHING! WORK AT CHECKPOINTS!

May Day is approaching as well as the traditional Hullu Jussi event. In the event, teams of 4-10 people tour Otaniemi completing various checkpoints and competing for the title of “the craziest teekkari group”. The question is: would your association like to arrange a checkpoint in the event?

What, where, when?

  • Time: 29 Apr 2012, approx. 10pm-1am, after the beginning of the night pranks
  • Location: Around Otaniemi
  • Concept: Groups of friends tour checkpoints in Otaniemi and compete for the title of “the craziest teekkari group”. The winner will be published in the declaration of May Day celebrations.

If you are interested and would like to organise a checkpoint in Otaniemi and have a great time, please sign up at matias.korkka@ayy.fi no later than 22 Apr. Please include the subject “Hullu Jussi RastinpitĂ€jĂ€ 2012” and mention your association name, details of the contact person, preferred location of the checkpoint and the content of the checkpoint that you have planned. If your association does not have a club room and you would like to organise the checkpoint indoors, we can arrange premises for you. As a bonus, the association which organises the best checkpoint wins one free use of Otaranta rooftop sauna in the summer or next autumn! Further information is available at matias.korkka@ayy.fi. Further information will be provided for participants at a later date.

6. STUDENT – YOU CAN NOW PARTICIPATE IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF NOPPA SERVICE

We are developing Noppa service and with the student survey we aim to chart students’ opinions on Noppa’s most important student services. The survey also presents questions to support the development work for the mobilisation of Noppa services. The survey results will be used in the design of development directions as well as individual development targets. Results are also received from interviews. At the end of the survey, you can express your willingness to participate in interviews and tests.

We hope that you have fifteen minutes to respond to the survey. The answers are handled anonymous and confidentially. The survey is open between 12 March-25 March 2012. We will raffle 15 movie tickets among the respondents.

Link to the survey: https://www.webropolsurveys.com/S/607A022FB0F61C19.par. A separate survey for teachers and personnel will be conducted at a later date, which charts Noppa services from the perspective of the personnel.

Application of the operating grant and the submitting of association notices will begin on Thursday, 1 March

AYY allocates the operating grant to the associations entered in the first register of the association list. The association notice can be submitted and the operating grant can be applied for by filling out the online form starting on Thursday, 1 March 2012.

The specific address will be announced in the morning of the application date on ayy.fi front page. The application period will end on 1 April 2012. Each association should submit their applications on time as late applications will not be processed and there will be no exceptions to this principle. At this stage, you should first check that all necessary documents are in order (annual report, action plan, budget, income statement and balance sheet, list of officials and association rules).

Please remember that even if your association does not apply for financial operating grant (all associations in the second register, for example), the association notice form must be filled in annually. The allocation grounds for the operating grant and further information is available on ayy.fi website ”Grants for Associations” (/en/associations/grants-for-associations/). The same site also includes AYY’s official scoring model, according to which AYY’s Board allocates the grants for associations.

If you have any feedback or questions about the application process, please contact AYY’s organisation sector preferably by e-mail at  jarjestoasiat@ayy.fi.
