1. POLI’S APPRO

On Tuesday, 6 Nov, on the anniversary week of Teekkarius140, the eastern coastal city will explode when the first teekkari-led appro will be organised. The aim is to tour bars in Helsinki in the environment of Vanha Poli in the footsteps of the historical technology student spirit. A participant’s goal is to collect drink stamps in the bars visited during the night. The final performance level is determined by the number of collected stamps. There are a total of three levels in appro: Schnapps, Jug and Barrel.

The starting point is LeBonk (Yrjönkatu 24, Helsinki) at the time written in the ticket. The after party is held in Fredan Tivoli (Fredrikinkatu 51, Helsinki) from 9pm onwards. The midnight show includes ManMan, among others.

Advance sales of ticket packages to associations takes place between 16-17 Oct through the form https://lomake.ayy.fi/teekkarijaosto/polin-appron-ennakkolipunmyynti/

2.  REVIEW OF THE RULES FOR FACILITIES RENTED FOR ONE-TIME USE

The autumn has just began, but AYY’s cultural sector has detected some slipping from the principles of the facility use. As a reminder, here are the principles for all users of facilities:

1. You get a checklist for each facility rental, which must be filled out and returned.

2. You are allowed to celebrate, but it also includes the responsibility to clean up your mess after the party. So clean everything: take rubbish in the RUBBISH BIN, wipe the floors and tables, clean glass splinters, cans and all kinds of loose rubbish, rearrange the facilities if you have moved tables, etc., and take your own items from the facilities as quickly as possible.

By acting like this, things go smoothly for everyone and nobody’s working hours are wasted in various inspections. If we do not act this way, AYY’s cultural sector will begin to distribute temporary user bans and/or bill for the cleaning work that has been done afterwards. The fact is that no one wants to start arranging a party by cleaning the previous mess. In addition, the services and the central office already have their hands full without additional cleaning arrangements.

Also, please remember that the night use of Smökki is only allowed with a separate permission and you will definitely get caught, as our Culture Producer Tuomas Saloniemi lives right next to Smökki 😉

3. REGISTRATION TO TEEKKARIUS 140 PARTY TO OPEN ON 3 OCT

1. CAMPUS EXPO ON 17-19 SEPT. SIGN UP NOW!

This year, Campus Expo will be organised in Töölö on Monday, 17 Sept and Tue, 18 Sept-Wed 19 Sept in Otaniemi. In Campus Expo, you can present your association activities to new students, sell overall badges and make new acquaintances. Your association may participate in one or more days.

Sign up by Mon, 10 Sept:  https://lomake.ayy.fi/aava/kampuskarkelot/

On Monday, the first expo day will be organised in Töölö between 10am-2pm in the main building lobby of the School of Business. On Monday evening, you can also arrange association activities open to everyone at KY’s club facilities, which you can advertise at your expo stand.

Due to renovation, the expo in Otaniemi will be exceptionally organised in the lobby which surrounds Hall M. The facilities are a little smaller and more challenging, and stands will be closer to one another but we hope that you understand the situation. There are not enough tables and chairs for everyone so we encourage you to bring your own equipment for your stand.

On the first Otaniemi day, an evening event will also be organised. The idea is that you can invite new members to get to know your activities in sauna facilities which can be booked when you sign up. If possible, you can also arrange the event in your own club facilities. The idea is not to organise checkpoints but rather to organise events/activities that your association usually does, and which can be easily presented to those who are interested. Please mention possible event ideas in the registration form and we will annouce the division of facilities by 11 Sept. You can also mention if you organise the evening event in your own club room and we will add it to the schedule.

Schedule:

  • Mon, 17 Sept, Campus Expo in Töölö
10am-2pm Lobby in the main building of the School of Business
~6pm-7pm onwards,  evening events in the club rooms of KY Building
  • Tue, 18 Sept, Campus Expo in Otaniemi, the 1st day
10am-2pm Otaniemi, former main building, lobby and the surrondings of Hall M
~6pm-7pm onwards, evening events in sauna facilities and club facilities
  • Wed, 19 Sept, Campus Expo in Otaniemi, the 2nd day
10am-2pm Otaniemi, former main building, lobby and the surroundings of Hall M
In the evening, World on Campus event organised by Internationality Section

Associations and actors within AYY have the opportunity to submit important event dates for the student union’s academic year calendar. Events can be submitted through the google docs file linked below until Sunday, 27 May 2012. Please add your events under the correct month in chronological order. Please enter the text you want in the calendar ”Event name/Text” field (yellow background). Please note that one line can hold up the maximum of 25 characters of text, including spaces. When writing the text, please consider how many lines from  your own calendar you wish to be ”wasted”. The calendar is trilingual so please take this into account when planning the text.

If there are several events marked on the same date, the event that concerns most of the students will end up in the calendar. The file is editable until the provided deadline 27 May 2012, until which you can make changes to your events. Please fill out the columns carefully, and check and double check that the information is correct. Please also remember to include information on who is organising the event.

Please submit your event here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0ArnDlXGvbkaXdDhCZm9Wdkw1N3hwNDg3YUhjTUM2aHc#gid=0. Questions and comments are received by AYY’s Communications Officer Henna Lahti  (henna.lahti@ayy.fi or 050 5209440).
